All your answers about the swimming pool roller shutter
If I sell my swimming pool, do I have to provide the notary or estate agent with a diagnosis indicating that my pool meets safety standards?
Yes, you must provide the agent in charge of the sale or your buyer with a diagnosis that will justify the compliance of your pool with standards through the cover you have chosen. The cover is, like an alarm, a shelter or a barrier, a safety device that meets the NFP 90-308 standard.
Do I have to declare the installation of my pool cover to my insurance company?
Yes, because it must be insured against lightning (for the electrical part) and against hail for the blades.
Is my pool cover covered by my insurance in case of an accident?
Yes if the cover has been declared.
What is the difference between a submerged shutter and an above ground cover?
For an immersed cover, as its name indicates, the roller tube is in the water, whereas for an above-ground cover the roller tube is fixed to the coping, so it is outside the water. For the submerged version, the standard requires a partition between the swimming area and the cover area. This can be provided either during construction or by adding a PVC partition.
Will the pool cover maintain the temperature of my pool?
Yes, one of the other advantages of the roller cover is the fact that it maintains the water temperature (maximum drop of 2 to 3° during the night) during the summer. It is also common to combine a roller cover with a heat pump to enjoy the pool for longer.
What size should I plan for the pit of my swimming pool roller cover if I choose the submerged cover version?
The size of the pit will depend on the length of my pool. The pit must be able to accommodate the entire roll of the cover. Example of pit dimensions: for a pool length of 8m: you should allow 650 mm of pit width. For a pool length of 9m: you should allow for 685 mm of pit width. For a pool length of 10m: you will need to allow 700mm of pit width.
What is the NFP Standard?
Each protection model (roller cover, alarm, cover or barrier) is assigned a specific standard to protect against the accidental fall of a child into the pool. For the roller cover it is the NFP 90-308.
Can Soprefa sell, deliver and install a cover on a pool abroad?
Yes, SOPREFA is commercially present in Portugal, Spain and France. In addition, we sell throughout Europe and even worldwide.
What are the advantages of the electric cover?
Protects against children falling out, maintains water temperature, reduces the need for water treatment products, prevents dirt in the pool.
Quelle sanction j'encours en l'absence d'un volet de sécurité piscine ?
Failure to comply with the obligation to fit your pool with a safety device can result in a fine of up to €45,000. In addition, the builder or installer who does not provide you with the required technical note risks a fine of the same amount.
How do I choose the right company to manufacture my pool cover?
The most important thing is to check that the manufacturer is approved according to the NFP 90-308 standard. The advantage of Soprefa is that you are direct from the factory with all the advantages that this implies.
Which body validates the approval?
LNE and other private laboratories, Soprefa France works with the Pourquery laboratory for the approval of its products (the only laboratory registered with the AFNOR P91C commission on "Protective elements for unenclosed in-ground private swimming pools for individual or collective use")
Can SOPREFA manufacture and install an above ground pool cover?
Yes, if the pool can accept a roller shutter and support its weight. It is common to see semi-inground wooden pools equipped with a roller cover.
Can I order my cover before my pool is dug?
Yes, but we do not recommend it because as our covers are made to measure it is preferable to have the finished dimensions of the basin (after plastering) so that the covers fits the dimensions of the basin as well as possible and remains within the 7cm maximum clearance between the wall and the slat plugs.
If I install my pool cover myself will it still be guaranteed?
Yes, if the installation instructions are followed.
Can I install my pool cover myself?
Yes, we include a comprehensive installation manual so that each customer can carry out the installation in the best possible conditions.
How long does the manufacturer Soprefa France guarantee my shutter?
The blades and the motor are guaranteed for 3 years.
Is it possible for my pool cover to be damaged in bad weather?
Yes, hail can damage the slats (pierce them), and lightning can damage the motor or the electrical box.
Is a pool cover made to measure for my pool?
Soprefa only makes "made to measure", so each cover production is linked to the precise dimensions of each basin.
Is a pool cover considered a safety device for the pool?
Yes, it meets the NFP 90-308 standard. The cover is, like an alarm, a cover or a barrier, a means of protecting a child under the age of 5 from access to the pool.
